About Today Gold Price Sri Lanka

Accurate, transparent, and unbiased daily gold price information for Sri Lanka — powered by international market data and official exchange rates.

Today Gold Price Sri Lanka provides daily gold price tracking for the Sri Lankan market. Our prices are calculated from two primary sources:

  1. The London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) gold price — the global benchmark for precious metals
  2. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka's (CBSL) official daily indicative exchange rate

We publish gold prices for 24K, 22K, 21K, and 18K purity levels in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR), displayed in grams, pawns (the traditional Sri Lankan unit of 8 grams), troy ounces, and tolas. Our calculation methodology is fully transparent and published on our site.

This website is independently operated and is not affiliated with any jewelry retailer, gold dealer, or financial institution. We do not buy, sell, or trade gold. Our mission is to provide accurate, unbiased, and transparent gold price information for consumers, investors, and industry professionals in Sri Lanka.

Our data is refreshed daily during market hours and reflects the most recent LBMA PM fix combined with the current CBSL exchange rate.

Our Data Sources

LBMA Gold Price

The London Bullion Market Association sets the global benchmark gold price twice daily (AM and PM fix). We use the PM fix as it reflects the most complete trading day. The LBMA price is recognized worldwide as the standard reference for gold transactions.

CBSL Exchange Rate

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka publishes official indicative exchange rates daily. We use the USD/LKR rate to convert the LBMA gold price (quoted in US dollars) into Sri Lankan Rupees, ensuring our prices reflect the true local cost of gold.

Our Methodology

Our gold price calculation is straightforward and transparent. We take the LBMA PM fix price per troy ounce in USD, convert it to LKR using the CBSL indicative exchange rate, and then derive per-gram and per-pawn prices for each karat level based on standard purity percentages:

  • 24K — 99.9% pure gold
  • 22K — 91.67% pure gold
  • 21K — 87.5% pure gold
  • 18K — 75% pure gold
