Today Gold Price Sri Lanka provides daily gold price tracking for the Sri Lankan market. Our prices are calculated from two primary sources:

Gold API — the global gold quote in USD per troy ounce
ExchangeRate-API — the daily USD/LKR exchange rate

We publish gold prices for 24K, 22K, 21K, and 18K purity levels in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR), displayed in grams, pawns (the traditional Sri Lankan unit of 8 grams), troy ounces, and tolas. Our calculation methodology is fully transparent and published on our site.

This website is independently operated and is not affiliated with any jewelry retailer, gold dealer, or financial institution. We do not buy, sell, or trade gold. Our mission is to provide accurate, unbiased, and transparent gold price information for consumers, investors, and industry professionals in Sri Lanka.

Our current estimate refreshes approximately hourly when visitors load the site. Gold quotes come from Gold API; USD/LKR rates come from ExchangeRate-API and update daily. Source timestamps are displayed separately.

Our Data Sources

Gold API Quote

Gold API supplies the global gold quote in USD per troy ounce. We use the quote and timestamp returned by its free price endpoint. This is a spot estimate rather than a verified LBMA auction fix.

USD/LKR Exchange Rate

ExchangeRate-API supplies the USD/LKR rate used in our calculation. Its free feed updates daily and supports currency conversion. It is a separate source from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Our Methodology

Our gold price calculation is straightforward and transparent. We take the Gold API quote per troy ounce in USD and convert it to LKR using ExchangeRate-API, and then derive per-gram and per-pawn prices for each karat level based on standard purity percentages:

24K — 99.9% pure gold
22K — 91.67% pure gold
21K — 87.5% pure gold
18K — 75% pure gold
