Its prices, charts, calculator results, articles and downloads are provided for general reference and educational purposes. They are estimates of gold-content value, not an official price list, a professional valuation, or a binding quotation.

The website does not provide personalised financial, investment, trading, legal or tax advice. General commentary about gold, market movements or purchasing is not a recommendation suited to your objectives, financial circumstances or risk tolerance. Nothing on this website is an offer, solicitation or instruction to buy, sell, hold, trade, pawn or invest in gold or any financial product.

Current estimates are calculated using Gold API’s global gold quote in US dollars per troy ounce and ExchangeRate-API’s USD/LKR conversion rate. The 24K value per gram is calculated as USD per troy ounce multiplied by LKR per USD, divided by 31.1034768. Other purities use the karat divided by 24; one pawn is treated as eight grams. Displayed values are rounded.

Daily historical estimates use dated Fawaz Ahmed Currency API snapshots for gold and USD/LKR. Its USD-base XAU value is inverted to obtain US dollars per troy ounce before applying the same conversion and purity formula. The original manually recorded IdeaBeam figures are available separately and are not combined with the daily estimate series for chart trends.

A mathematical conversion does not establish a price at which anyone must buy or sell gold. Estimates assume the selected weight, unit and purity are correct. They do not verify hallmarks, assay results, actual fineness, authenticity, usable gold weight, or the condition of an item.

The website normally checks current feeds approximately hourly and refreshes cached pages when they are accessed. This is not a guarantee of continuous real-time pricing. A visitor may see an earlier cached response while a refresh runs. Gold and foreign-exchange providers update on different schedules; the exchange-rate feed normally updates daily. Weekends, holidays, provider delays, technical failures and market closures can affect quote availability.

Gold and exchange-rate timestamps are displayed separately in Sri Lanka time. A refresh or retrieval time is not necessarily the time the underlying market price was quoted. If a feed is unavailable or invalid, the website may show a previously saved estimate with its original dates and an availability or overdue notice. Always check those dates before using a value.

We apply validation and reasonable checks, but cannot guarantee that information is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose. Provider data, conversion inputs, rounding, software, calculations and published content can contain errors or omissions. Estimates may differ between sources because of quote timing, exchange-rate methodology, market coverage or other assumptions.

API providers and hosting services operate independently of this website. Their services may change, be interrupted, impose limits or become unavailable. We may correct, replace, revise or remove information and change the calculation method or data sources. We do not promise an update at a particular time or that every error will be identified immediately.

Displayed values generally exclude jewellery making charges, wastage, stones, labour, design value, taxes, delivery, dealer margins, premiums and other charges or deductions. Actual purchase prices, resale proceeds, scrap offers and buyback rates can differ materially from the calculated gold-content value.

A pawn calculation expresses the value of eight grams at the selected purity. It is not an offer of a pawn loan, a lending valuation, or a guarantee of the amount a bank, lender, jeweller or dealer will provide. Loan terms, interest, fees, purity testing and deductions are determined by the relevant provider.

Historical rows and chart points represent the available dated reference snapshots. They are not independently verified LBMA auction prices, official CBSL rates, or guaranteed daily opening or closing prices. Weekend snapshots may repeat an earlier market quote. Unavailable source dates are disclosed and are not filled with invented prices.

A historical daily snapshot can differ from the current estimate because its source or quote time differs. Past movements, patterns and calculator scenarios do not predict future prices or guarantee returns. Gold prices and currency exchange rates can move sharply; buying, selling, borrowing against gold or investing can result in losses.
